The current concept is this: you create a video once and then render it once. Then, you can duplicate it. The problem is as the editor gets more complex, sometimes you just want to continue working on your project without "saving" it by rendering it out. The other problem is you lose all your changes when the editor crashes. This feature will fix this: all the changes you're applying to the project will be auto-saved. Then you'll be able to click "export" to render the video and save it locally. It also opens more possibilities for using templates, sharing projects, collaborating.
